Flipkart WiRED X  ·  Three Tracks  ·  Open to All B-Schools

You do not need to win WiRED X to get the interview.

Flipkart WiRED X is one of India's biggest B-School case competitions, and it is built differently from almost every other flagship contest. First year students get pre-placement interviews after Round Two. Second year students get full-time interview opportunities after the semi-finals. The interview process starts in the middle of the competition, not at the end. With cash prizes up to ₹2 lakhs, Flipkart merchandise, and a finale at Flipkart headquarters in Bengaluru, this is one of the highest ROI competitions of the season.

    Why this matters
WiRED X is probably the only flagship case competition where interview opportunities begin during the competition, not after the finale. First years can secure a PPI after the case submission round. Second years can land a full-time interview after the virtual semi-finals. That means the ROI is front loaded, and even a semi-final finish can change your placement season.

Rewards, interviews, and the real prize

The headline rewards are cash prizes up to ₹2 lakhs plus Flipkart merchandise, but experienced students know the real value is the interview pipeline. Flipkart's final roles from this competition are typically among the best in the industry, with CTC packages around ₹30 LPA.

The interview comes early, but only if you clear the first two rounds
Do not treat the online assessment as a casual qualifier. The quiz is usually easy and situational, but accuracy matters more than speed. Teams that rush through Round 1 or submit a weak case in Round 2 miss the interview window entirely, even if they could have made the finale later.

    The eligibility is unusually open

Unlike many flagship competitions that restrict entries to a select campus list, Flipkart WiRED X is open to all full-time MBA and PGDM students across India. It does not matter which B-School you are in, which year you are in, or what your specialization is.

    1
Open to all full-time MBA and PGDM students
There is no restricted campus list. Students from any recognized B-School in India can register, which makes this one of the most accessible flagship competitions.
    2
First and second years can both apply
First years compete for PPIs. Second years compete for full-time interviews. Both years can build a team together, so consider mixing fresh consumer insight with placement-season maturity.
    3
Teams of one to three members
You can enter solo, but a team of three is ideal. A strong trio lets you split research, data analysis, and narrative building without coordination overhead.
    4
    No specialization barrier
Whether you are in marketing, finance, HR, operations, or general management, there is a track that maps to your strengths. Pick the track where your existing skills give you an edge.

Four rounds from registration to the Bengaluru finale

WiRED X follows a clean funnel. Each round is a real filter, and the interview window opens before the finale, so your performance in the first two rounds carries disproportionate weight.

    1
    Round 1 - Online Assessment
A situational quiz where accuracy beats speed
The opening round is an online assessment that tests situational judgment, business intuition, and basic aptitude. The questions are generally easy, but the scoring rewards careful answers over rushed attempts.
Tip: Past participants say the quiz feels simple but the cutoff is not. Read each situational case twice, eliminate extreme options, and prioritize accuracy. Do not overthink e-commerce jargon; most questions test structured thinking, not domain depth.
    2
    Round 2 - Case Submission
The round that unlocks your first interview
Shortlisted teams submit a case solution based on the real business problem released by Flipkart. This is the round where first year teams can earn a PPI, and it sets the stage for second year full-time interview shortlists.
Tip: Watch the AceCase Pro spotlight recordings from past WiRED winners before you start writing. Flipkart usually picks a central theme, like Quick Commerce in the previous edition, and all tracks revolve around it. Build a consumer-first narrative with clear metrics and a feasible rollout plan.
    3
    Semi-Finals - Virtual Presentation
Pitch your solution to Flipkart leaders online
Selected teams present their case solution virtually to Flipkart leadership and jury members. Second year teams that impress here move into the full-time interview process.
Tip: Rehearse the pitch as a team, not as a solo speaker. Flipkart juries often stress-test your implementation plan, unit economics, and scalability. Prepare for questions on logistics, supply chain, customer acquisition, and competitive response.
    4
Grand Finale - Flipkart HQ, Bengaluru
The national stage with the best teams
The top teams from the semi-finals present their refined solutions in person at Flipkart headquarters in Bengaluru. This is where the cash prizes and final recognition are decided.
Tip: If you reach the finale, treat the in-person presentation as a leadership conversation, not a classroom case. Flipkart values bold but executable ideas. Bring crisp numbers, a clear owner for every recommendation, and a honest risk mitigation plan.
    The theme this season

Flipkart WiRED historically picks a central business theme and designs all three tracks around it. Last year the focus was Quick Commerce, specifically Flipkart Minutes, and the same theme later appeared in competitions like Amazon ACE.

This season is expected to follow a similar pattern. That means your preparation for WiRED X will also help you crack upcoming competitions from Amazon, Meesho, Myntra, AJIO, Tata Neu, Tata CliQ, Nykaa, Zepto, Blinkit, Swiggy, Zomato, and BigBasket. The frameworks you build here are reusable across the entire e-commerce and quick commerce season.

    Business, HR, and Supply Chain

WiRED X runs three parallel tracks. If you are unsure which one to pick, the Business track is the closest to product management and general management roles, and it usually attracts the broadest set of participants.

    📊
    Business
Closest to PM and GenMan roles. Best for students who enjoy strategy, growth, and consumer problems.
    👥
    HR
For students interested in talent, culture, and organizational design at scale.
    🚚
    Supply Chain
For operations and SCM focused students who want to solve fulfillment and logistics challenges.
    Track selection advice
When in doubt, choose the Business track
The Business track is the most generalist option and maps cleanly to product management and general management career paths. However, if you have a strong operations or HR background, the specialized tracks can be less crowded and give you a better chance to stand out.

Six moves that separate interview getters from the rest

    1
Build a team of three passionate people
A three-member team gives you enough bandwidth without coordination chaos. Pick people who can commit time, not just names for the form. WiRED X moves fast once the case is released.
    2
Study Flipkart's current playbook before the case drops
Read Flipkart's recent annual reports, press releases, and strategy updates around quick commerce, grocery, and supply chain. The case will likely tie back to one of these themes.
    3
Watch past winner recordings before you write
The AceCase Pro folder has multiple Flipkart WiRED spotlight sessions from past winners. Watch them now, not later. Understanding how winners structured their submission will save you from reinventing the wheel.
    4
Start with the consumer, not the product
Flipkart cases reward consumer-first thinking. Define the shopper tension clearly, then show how Flipkart's capabilities solve it. Avoid leading with features or tech jargon.
    5
    Make your numbers defensible
Whether it is market size, adoption rate, or cost per delivery, every number in your deck should have a source or a clear assumption. Juries will ask where your assumptions came from.
    6
Prepare for the virtual semi-final like a real interview
The semi-final is where second year teams unlock full-time interviews. Dress professionally, rehearse transitions, and assign each member a clear section. The jury is evaluating you as future Flipkart hires, not just case competitors.
