Destination Dr. Reddy's 3.0 · Management Track · Individual Participation
Not a case competition. An interview drive wearing one's clothes.
Destination Dr. Reddy's 3.0 is the flagship early careers drive from Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, and the Management Track is built specifically for first year MBA students across Finance, HR, Operations and Sales and Marketing. What makes it unusual is the format. You do not build a team, you do not chase a cash prize, and there is no glossy grand finale. You go through five rounds on your own, and the students who survive walk into Pre-Placement Interviews for the 2026-27 summer internship, with a live shot at a PPO and entry into the Young Leaders Program. Nearly 20,000 MBA students registered for this track alone. Here is how the funnel actually works and what separates the 98th percentile from everyone else.
Why this matters
Dr. Reddy's is not running this for branding. It is running an actual selection process. 100+ Pre-Placement Interview slots for the summer internship are on the table, strong internship performance converts into a PPO, and the PPO route leads into the Young Leaders Program, the company's flagship management track. This is a hiring pipeline with a competition wrapper, and it should be read that way.
Where things stand right now
The Management Track is already mid-funnel
Timelines matter here more than usual, so start with the reality check. The Management Track ran from 24 July 2026 to 18 September 2026, and registrations closed on 20 August 2026. Initial screening happened between 21 and 24 August. Round 1, the cognitive assessment, ran on 26 and 27 August, and results are already out with a cut-off at the 98th percentile. Round 2, the functional assessment, is live on 2 and 3 September. Interviews and behavioural rounds follow through 7 to 15 September.
If you are already in the funnel, this guide is your prep sheet for the rounds that remain. If you missed the Management Track window, the other three tracks in the festival, Engineering, Pharma and Digital and AI, run on their own timelines, and Destination Dr. Reddy's returns every year. Season 3 drew more than 66,000 registrations across tracks, which tells you exactly how early you need to be watching for Season 4.

The four domains
You pick your function, and it decides your Round 2
Unlike case competitions where everyone solves the same problem, Destination Dr. Reddy's asks you to declare a preferred function at registration. That choice determines the functional assessment you sit for in Round 2 and the panel you eventually face. Choose the domain you can defend in an interview, not the one you think is easiest to clear.
Finance
Expect working capital, cost structures, pricing and basic valuation applied to a pharma P&L. Generics economics and margin pressure are recurring themes.
Human Resources
Talent management, capability building, employee engagement and organisation design questions, usually framed around a manufacturing plus knowledge worker mix.
Operations
Supply chain, plant productivity, quality compliance and inventory questions. Regulated manufacturing means quality is never a trade-off you can optimise away.
Sales and Marketing
Brand strategy, channel and distribution, prescriber and pharmacist behaviour, and OTC versus branded generics positioning in India and emerging markets.
The filter people underestimate
A 98th percentile cut-off in Round 1 is not a formality
Round 1 is a 60 minute online proctored cognitive assessment covering numerical ability, logical reasoning and problem solving. With close to 20,000 registrations on the Management Track, the published cut-off for Season 3 landed at the 98th percentile. That means aptitude preparation, not pharma knowledge, is what decides whether you ever get to show your functional depth. Treat Round 1 like a CAT sectional under a clock, because that is effectively what it is.
How the funnel runs
Five rounds, and each one screens for something different
The structure is unusually transparent. Dr. Reddy's publishes what each round tests, which means you can prepare for the exact competency being measured instead of guessing.

Screening
Initial screening on your registration form
Registrations are screened against eligibility criteria and the details you submitted. Academic percentages, program type and specialisation are all verified here.
Tip: this is where the majority of silent rejections happen. Fill the form with the same care you would give a placement application. Wrong marks, a mismatched specialisation or a blank field ends your run before any assessment.
An online proctored aptitude test across numerical ability, logical reasoning and problem solving. Only the strongest performers move ahead, and the Season 3 cut-off was announced at the 98th percentile.
Tip: accuracy beats coverage. In percentile-ranked aptitude tests with a dense top end, one careless error costs more than two unattempted questions. Do a timed set of DI, arithmetic and logical reasoning the week before, and set up a clean, well lit room so proctoring flags do not invalidate your attempt.
2
Round Two
Functional assessment with caselets and written answers
A proctored assessment in your chosen function combining multiple choice questions, descriptive questions and business caselets that need structured written responses. It tests functional knowledge and your ability to apply it to real business situations.
Tip: your caselet answers come back at you in Round 3, so write them as if you will be cross-examined, because you will be. Lead with a one line recommendation, follow with three supporting reasons, quantify at least one of them, and close with a risk you have thought about. Save a copy of what you wrote.
3
Round Three
Technical interview and case presentation
Shortlisted candidates take a technical or functional interview, join a panel discussion, and present their solutions to the caselets submitted in Round 2. This stage looks at problem solving approach, business acumen, communication and executive presence.
Tip: rehearse defending your own Round 2 answer out loud. Panels rarely attack the recommendation, they attack the assumption underneath it. Know what you assumed about volume, price, headcount or lead time, and know what changes if that assumption is wrong.
4
Round Four
Behavioural assessment
A structured assessment of behavioural strengths, working style, decision making approach and alignment with the competencies Dr. Reddy's values.
Tip: answer consistently rather than aspirationally. Structured behavioural instruments are built to catch contradiction across similarly worded items. Pick the answer that is actually true of how you work, not the one that sounds most like a leadership brochure.
5
Round Five
Behavioural interview with the leadership team
The final stage. Leadership assesses leadership potential, communication and collaboration, cultural alignment with Dr. Reddy's values and long-term career aspirations. Candidates who clear this receive internship offers.
Tip: have a clear, specific answer to why pharma and why Dr. Reddy's. Good Health Can't Wait is not decoration, it is the stated purpose of the company. Connect it to something real in your own story rather than reciting it back.
Read the format for what it is
First, this is an interview drive, not a contest. There is no prize pool, no team, no trophy. The output is an internship offer. That changes how you should prepare, because you are being judged on whether Dr. Reddy's would hire you, not on whether your slide deck impressed a jury.
Second, the rounds are sequenced from raw ability to fit. Aptitude first, functional depth second, defence and presence third, behaviour and values last. Each round removes a different kind of candidate. Strong all-round candidates clear it, spiky ones usually do not.
Know the company
What you should know about Dr. Reddy's before an interview
Dr. Reddy's Laboratories was established in 1984 and is headquartered in Hyderabad. It is listed on the BSE, NSE, NYSE and NSE IFSC, and it operates across APIs, generics, branded generics, biosimilars and OTC. Its focus therapeutic areas are gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, diabetology, oncology, pain management and dermatology, and its major markets are the USA, India, Russia and the CIS countries, China, Brazil and Europe.
The company's stated purpose, Good Health Can't Wait, runs through everything from its product access positioning to its early careers branding. It published its first sustainability report in 2004, which is early by Indian corporate standards, and its current ESG goals cover environmental stewardship, access and affordability, diversity and governance. If you can speak to how a business decision affects patient access and affordability, not just margin, you will sound materially more prepared than the candidate before you.
On the careers side, the Young Leaders Program is the destination this entire drive points towards. It is the flagship early careers track for MBA hires, and the internship to PPO to YLP route is the pathway Dr. Reddy's is explicitly advertising through Destination.
How to get through
Six things that decide who reaches the interview stage
1
Treat aptitude as the real competition
Everything downstream is functional and behavioural, but the funnel narrows hardest at Round 1. Two weeks of timed aptitude practice does more for your odds here than two weeks of pharma reading. Build speed on DI and arithmetic, and protect accuracy.
2
Choose your function honestly at registration
Your declared function decides your Round 2 paper and your Round 3 panel. Picking a domain you cannot defend in a technical interview is the most expensive shortcut available in this process.
3
Write caselet answers in a defensible structure
Recommendation first, then reasons, then numbers, then risks. Descriptive answers that ramble are hard to grade and harder to defend. The graders are reading hundreds of responses, so make yours skimmable and specific.
4
Learn the pharma constraints that make this industry different
Regulatory approvals, USFDA observations, patent cliffs, price control under NPPA, generic erosion and quality compliance shape almost every decision. A generic FMCG answer in a pharma caselet reads as unprepared.
5
Prepare the panel discussion, not just the interview
Round 3 includes a panel discussion alongside the technical interview. Contribution quality beats airtime. Enter with two structured points, build on someone else's argument at least once, and do not talk over the group to be noticed.
6
Get your proctoring setup right
Both assessment rounds are proctored and time-bound, and missing a window is an automatic exit. Test your camera, internet and browser a day early, and log in well before the slot opens. Every year, capable candidates lose on logistics rather than ability.
